Enchanting Santa Fe
A couple of days "On the Reservation"
May 3 - 6, 2012
DAY 1: THURSDAY, MAY 3, 2012
Fly to Albuquerque then onto Santa Fe, via a small mini-bus, and check into La Posada. Enjoy lunch together at the Compound on the famous Canyon Road. The balance of the afternoon you can shop the unique stores and galleries on Canyon Road. At approximately 6:00pm we will gather at a noted gallery for a cocktail party and enjoy listening to the owner of the gallery, a turquoise expert, educate us on her area of expertise. Dinner this evening at Santa Luna restaurant.
DAY 2: FRIDAY, MAY 4, 2012
Leave for Santo Domingo Pueblo for a morning visit with 2/3 artists. Tour the Pueblo and experience demonstrations and a traditional Native lunch at an artist's home.
Drive back to Santa Fe.
Enjoy free time until dinner at LaPlazuela at La Fonda - Blessing by Native Elder.
Spa treatments are optional.
DAY 3: SATURDAY, MAY 5, 2012
Leave Santa Fe, via the Turquoise Trail, around 9am for Albuquerque.
Arrive in the charming town of Madrid for shopping and lunch at the Mine Shaft Tavern.
Drive to Albuquerque and check into the Sandia Tram Ride.*** Enjoy dinner at Santiago's while watching the sunset.
Check into Hotel Albuquerque in Old Town.
DAY 4: SUNDAY, MAY 6, 2012
Enjoy last minute shopping in Old Town Albuquerque.
Lunch on your own in Albuquerque.
Take you afternoon flight home to Chicago.
***The Sandia Peak Tram is the world's longest free-span cable tram. The 2.7 mile tramway ride to the top will take you through four of the seven mile life zones found in North America. Traversing these zones is equal to taking a trip from Mexico City to Alaska! Once atop Sandia Peak, you will marvel at the thousands of square miles of breath taking scenery and panoramic views in all directions.
